How this page works
A note on the grocery list at onepushmain.com, for anyone who punched it and wondered.
The joke
Luiz is a site reliability engineer, so every punch is an incident and the paper always gets repaired. Saitama's grocery list just happens to be the production system.
What a punch does
- Crumple: the paper folds in around the hit and the writing rides the creases. A faint crease stays, the way real paper keeps one.
- Tape: the punch tears a hole, the letters inside it are gone, and clear tape slaps over it with the missing words written back on the strip. That is the hotfix.
- INCIDENT RESOLVED: the stamp that follows every punch.
- Auto-heal: five seconds after the last punch the sheet irons itself out. Repair paper does it at once.
The Serious Punch
Every hundredth punch is a major incident: the stamp says MAJOR INCIDENT RESOLVED and the training note in the margin is ticked off (100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, 10km, as the show prescribes). It also unlocks the Serious Punch button, which plays the full anime impact on request. It never fires by itself, and replaying it does not count.
Your tally
The count is kept in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Share score writes a plain line you can paste; the link in it does not carry your score, so whoever opens it starts from their own.
How it is made
- One HTML file and this one. No build step and no framework: the browser runs the source exactly as it is written, so view source shows all of it.
- The handwriting is Shadows Into Light by Kimberly Geswein, served from this site under the SIL Open Font License. The page makes no request to any other site.
- With reduced motion turned on, a punch still counts and leaves its mark, but nothing flies, shakes or flashes.
- When nobody is punching, the page draws nothing and runs no animation at all.
